Eid Mubarak

Eid Mubarak! Wondering if this Eid is same for everyone around the world. I don’t want to go through the despondent talks on Israel-Palestine War, Civil wars in Syria, Iraq and God knows where else nor about the bombing of a plane. Instead, I want you to listen to this track which makes me wonder where are the hearts of people who are fighting for reasons recondite to humanity.

It’s an Arabic song, luckily was able to find a video with English translation.

Music Revisited

At times some songs get into our heads to such an extent that we keep playing it repetitively and never get tired of listening to it. Then one day suddenly some another song takes it place and we forget about our previous delight. Happens with everybody, all the time. But it is good to go back to our old playlists from time to time to refresh memories. This process helped me to re-discover a song which I would describe as a zing to my teenage and is surprisingly again on my repeat mode. I hope you enjoy this rock song from the Cutting Crew.

If you have any such forgotten song, Post It. Lets revisit the music we loved 🙂

A conversation

After watching the horrendous natural mishap happened in the Uttarakhand state of India, I am devastated and shocked with the intensity of nature’s fury.

Uttarakhand lies in the northern region of India beautifully adorning mountain ranges. This state is popular for its hill stations and pilgrimage destinations. Like all years, this year also, thousands of people visited to the holy shrines at Kedarnath, Badrinath, Yamnotri and Gangotri only to witness death due to the floodings caused by the heavy rains and cloudburst.  The whole state as lies in the hilly region is prone to landslides. I watched the clips of the destroyed region on the news and they are very disturbing. People are still stranded in different parts of the state without food and any contacts as the road network got damaged and any sort of connection is not reachable to them. The rescue teams are in action to save as many people as they can however nobody can estimate the exact number of people who may have lost their lives in this accident. It is probably in thousands.

This video is just a fraction of the damage that has happened.

It is an intrinsic nature of us – to complain even without even realizing our faults. In this post I am trying to make a conversation between an affected pilgrim and the God.

What a pilgrim says to his God after witnessing this whole nature’s devastation.

“It was an epiphanic day,

I thought,

My materialistic pains will be alleviated,

If I see you,

I took a plunge,

Crossing rivers and mountains,

I arrived,

With folded hands, pure heart and teary eyes,

I prayed,

Not for me but for my family,

As I opened my eyes I was swept away,

I was drowning,

Amidst the yelling people I was lost,

    Soon everything was in rubble

I lost everything for which I prayed for

And with that the faith in you

Are you really God – the most divine or a monster?”

How the God replied to this harsh accusation on Him:

“It is you who made me God,

And now you are making me a monster

I never asked you to come to me,

I never asked you to pray me

All I have asked you is to help each other,

There are others dying every day of hunger,

While you were feeding your family

There are atrocities happening everywhere,

And you watched them

It perturbs me more when I see,

What you did with the nature I gifted you,

You did not value it too

And you are asking me if I’m a monster

Don’t go find me at far off places,

You will not seek happiness

I am there where you don’t want to see

 Within you

I have given you the power to find solutions for all your pains

Once you’ll start valuing things I have bestowed on you,

And help people around you,

You will not need any GOD to help you.”

Just five minutes of goodness

It’s always so good to see people helping people. Today I witnessed something like that when a man in his 30s stood by the side of a handicapped old man in a mayhem crowd. The man was going to work but still managed to spare 5 minutes to help that old man cross the street.

Just 5 minutes of charity everyday leaves you with a complacent feeling in mind. On that thought I would like to share a very inspiring video which was shared to me by a friend. I hope you like it.

Only if we have 5 minutes to spare.!!

Breakfast — And a Wedding — at Tiffany’s

Love it Love it..My favorite flick of all time..Reblogged 🙂

I Just Want It To Be Perfect

So we’ve talked aboutfantasy sports weddingsand those based on, shall we say, less-than-realistic teen novels, but what about another kind of fantasy: movies?

Hollywood wants us to think that movies are the ultimate fantasy, and in many ways they are — they’re escapist fare that lets us imagine ourselves as a superhero, a romantic lead, an unappreciated artistic genius …. or a maybe-call girl with a great hairdo and the best breakfast spot in New York. Yes, I’m talking about everyone’s favorite Givenchy-clad socialite: Holly Golightly.

With theplay opening in New Yorknext week, there’s sure to be a resurgence of popularity of the movie, and more specifically, the character (although can something reappear if it never really vanishes?).

It seems like many young women these days go through their Holly-idolizing stage — my daughter certainly has had her moments of wishing it was still fashionable…
