Can’t thank enough

Some more awards to my blog. What a great feeling. However I have been just too lazy to publish them so here let me unburden myself before I die with the weight of people’s kindness on me.  Here I am combining four awards from two of my fantastic  fellow bloggers – Mr. Tanumoy Biswas and Mr. Anil CM.

Before thanking my nominator Tanumoy Biswas, I want to apologize for the immense delay in publishing the honors. I was just waiting for some more awards so that I can club all ;-). Tanumoy nominated me for three awards (Wow!!) – “Super Sweet Blog Award”, “Very Inspiring Award” and  “Best Moment Award”.  I am so overwhelmed Tanumoy, thanks a lot :-). He is one of the most versatile writer I have come across and apart from writing I think you must visit his blog for the soulful music that plays on it. Most of the time I just visit his page to listen the music 🙂 And it is a double treat to read something so smooth and flowing (He is an incredible poet).  I wish I could nominate Tanumoy back for Super Sweet blog Award.

You can visit his page and connect with him here.

“Super Sweet Blog Award”

This award quite suits me as I do have a sweet tooth 🙂 On a serious note I think anybody would feel lucky to receive this award because there is not much sweetness left in the real world so if people find their share on this virtual world that’s just makes my day.

Let me spread some more sweetness by answering sweet sweet questions.

1. Cookies or Cake? – Kind of tough but cookies.  I like baking cakes thought I am very bad at it and everything goes into the trash can.

2. Chocolate or Vanilla? – Chocolate any day !! chocolate milk, chocolate cereals, chocolate biscuits, chocolate cake. This is a wonderful world.

3. Favorite Sweet Treat? – I am quite a sweetholic person and can find pleasure in anything sweet so it’s difficult question but still Indian sweets such as Kheer or Halwa is what I will pick over chocolates.  You must try these Indian sweets as they are divine.

4. When do you crave sweet things most? – Well like I said I have a sweet tooth but since I am a health freak I like to treat myself only after meals when I can’t control at all.

5. Sweet Nickname – ‘Shoniya’ my mom calls me that when she is showering her love for me.   That reminds me it’s been quite a while she called me that. Let me just barge in her room after the blogpost 🙂

“Very Inspiring Award”

This award is truly an honor for me if I have been able to inspire anyone. It is easy to make people laugh but it takes a lot to inspire somebody so thanks a ton Tanumoy for this if you really mean it :-).  Inspiration is everywhere around us but it needs a special pair of eyes to observe it and a mind to feel it. I just write what I see around me and sometimes things that bothers me and to draw inspiration from it.  I want to convey that sometimes I am just left in awe when I read people’s creations on this blog world of ours.  There is so much inspiration hidden here, we just need time to dig out such stuff.  And those people inspire me back to post something that will leave an impression. I feel very lucky and special to connect with people here.

“Best Moment Award”

I mentioned in one of my previous blog post that I believe in living in the moment. Here it is. This is the Best Moment for me to accept such warm awards. Interestingly this award is a relay so more you collect it more best moments you have.  Read more about it here.

Happy Blogging !

It’s certainly raining awards

For once I have stolen somebody’s headline for my blogpost as it’s very apt.  Thanks Vishal you are the sweetest blogger.  Vishal nominated me for these awards. One thing about him he really knows how to script his life very well, please find the link to his blog here.

There are some questions need to be answered to oblige the rules of these awards.

What is the meaning of life?

I think rather than figuring out the meaning of life just live as it comes. With a smile 🙂

Happiness is all about?

Finding pleasure in small things and in everything.

Why do you start a blog?

To share my thoughts and life with people who think alike and it’s good to read people’s thoughts on it. It gives me a whole new angle to see the things.

What is more important in your life relationships or fame?

Depends what intensity are we talking about here.  Well I am not somebody who would break ties to earn fame. But I have relationships who will support me to earn fame. So, both can be managed efficiently.

One thing which you like the most about blogging?

It’s a big pool and it’s so amazing to read people’s life and thoughts coming from different walks of life. And in this process of discovering people you sometime find people who think exactly like you.

What’s the best decision you ever made?

I don’t know I don’t review my decisions. Once taken it’s done I don’t look back.

Do you believe that unconditional love really exists in any kind of relationship?

I’m always perplexed when somebody ask me this question. Any other relationships is yet to experience but I am sure love between parents and kids is selfless and unconditional.

Do you believe in Karma’s if yes then what are bad and good karma according to you?

Definitely it’s all about Karma. As you sow, so shall you reap. I believe one has to pay for his bad deeds in the same life sooner or later.

Do you believe in rebirth or afterlife if yes then why?

This whole subject interests me deeply. Haven’t experienced either so can’t really say of their existence.

What is the best moment of your life?

I get carried away with moments so not one but many like when I travel, or when I’m reading a good book or done quality work in office.

Thanks Vishal for the thread keep going 🙂

I Rise

At times in life we feel suffocated as we drown in the complexities of life when we struggle to choose between right or wrong. And then we need a push to bring ourselves to the surface. What can be better inspirational source than a poem. This motivational poem is by American author and poet Maya Angelou and I see no reason for not liking it.

Still I Rise

You may write me down in history
With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may trod me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, I’ll rise.

Does my sassiness upset you?
Why are you beset with gloom?
‘Cause I walk like I’ve got oil wells
Pumping in my living room.

Just like moons and like suns,
With the certainty of tides,
Just like hopes springing high,
Still I’ll rise.

Did you want to see me broken?
Bowed head and lowered eyes?
Shoulders falling down like teardrops.
Weakened by my soulful cries.

Does my haughtiness offend you?
Don’t you take it awful hard
‘Cause I laugh like I’ve got gold mines
Diggin’ in my own back yard.

You may shoot me with your words,
You may cut me with your eyes,
You may kill me with your hatefulness,
But still, like air, I’ll rise.

Does my sexiness upset you?
Does it come as a surprise
That I dance like I’ve got diamonds
At the meeting of my thighs?

Out of the huts of history’s shame
I rise
Up from a past that’s rooted in pain
I rise
I’m a black ocean, leaping and wide,
Welling and swelling I bear in the tide.
Leaving behind nights of terror and fear
I rise
Into a daybreak that’s wondrously clear
I rise
Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave,
I am the dream and the hope of the slave.
I rise
I rise
I rise.

Where your freedom lies?

“Freedom” symbolises different but significant meaning to everyone. For some it may mean to do everything they want to and for some it may be just to abide by their fundamental rights. We are born free but as we grow that freedom of doing small things is taken away from us. If not forcefully than on moral grounds. Suddenly, we find ourselves entangled in this whole web of legality of actions.

“Do not roam naked freely, it may not be morally correct” said a policeman
“well I don’t intend to condescend anyone but it’s just my way of expressing happiness” said the man in mid twenties.
“But what you are doing is not allowed” – policeman
“But I was allowed when I was 5 year old, why not now” – man
“Well now you are grown up!” – policeman

I don’t mean that everybody should roam naked in happiness but the bigger picture is to understand that how our thoughts and expressions are sometimes curtailed in the light of being sophisticated. The freedom which we brought with ourselves in this world is now manipulated and is molded on convenience to build a morale society.

I demand to know why is it not morally correct to behave or do things from our childhood without getting attention of glaring eyes. Who gets to decide what fits in the moral society? And what is this moral society anyway? Does this moral society takes a beggar home when they see him in rags? Or lay blanket on him to avoid him looking incorrect in surroundings?

Just imagine a world without any impositions or constitution built rights. Is it not more real and easy to live in.

I hereby decline any state defining or awarding me the rights with which I was born.

“This is my right, a right given by god
To live a free life, to live in freedom

We talkin’ about freedom
Talkin’ bout freedom
I will fight, for the right
To live in freedom

Anyone, who wants to take it away
Will have to answer, cause this is my right”- Paul McCartney

Spirit and Spirituality

It is only when I want to draw some inspiration I inclined towards spirituality and religion. I am a Hindu but it is always the other religions I draw my inspirations from. We have so many religions that it is tough to cherry pick which one would inspire me today. No religion offers bad teachings, however due to some disturbing elements in society Islam has been looked with distrustful eyes. At times, a dimension of Islam that is Sufism has brought solace and inner peace to me so, I have all good things to say about this religion. It is not Islam which is inspiring me today but Buddhism. I have to admit that I am sort of biased towards this particular religion and I have no specific answer to that. Umm. may be I do. The whole protocol of this religion inspires me in a way that I start feeling disassociated with the materialistic life (that’s a different thing that I rebound to same materialism once I’m overfilled with spirituality). I have been fortunate enough to visit many (like really many) Buddhist Monasteries in India and abroad, some even too difficult to reach!! but I don’t get bored of them. I don’t see them as temples or tourist sites but for me they are more of places I look to relight myself.  India being an ally of Tibet is quite influenced by Buddhist culture so it’s not tough to find a Buddhist Monastery.  From the time I have started visiting them , the enchanting aura of the Buddhist temples, the monks in red-orange robes, the perfumed incense sticks, huge idols of Buddha, the Golden etched pillars and lots of open space for meditation has always called me back again and again. I have been to so many Monasteries that the whole scene is like engraved on my mind.

Last Christmas, I went to the Monastery in Mcleodganj also called as ‘Little Lhasa’ as it is an official residence of Dalai Lama. And the moment you enter the temple you are filled with the tranquility. I just sat there for two hours and meditated (only I didn’t levitate). I like the Buddhist idea of praying or remembering God in utter silence unlike other religions where there is not much quiescence you’ll find in a public place, even in my religion, we celebrate God with more music and dance, it’s a more grand affair. However, Buddhism teaches you that the God is nowhere but inside you so shut up and listen to your inner self (atleast for some time).

It’s my time to just sit back, put some Buddhist chants on my phone and let the images of it flow in my mind.
